Heoma Nsirim-Worlu P.hD is a Professor of Development Studies and Director, Centre for Gender and Development Studies, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. She is a second child in a family of six children. She is a daughter in the Ogbegbe Dynasty of Omuigwe in Aluu, born to Eze Sampson Chima Fred Nsirim Ogbegbe and Nnwere Eze Priscilla Chindah Nsirim (nee Woha). She currently lectures in the University of Port Harcourt, Department of Sociology, where she contributes to the training of both undergraduate and postgraduate students through teaching and supervision of their theses. She has several publications in reputable journals both international and national. In the time past she taught and did research with the Rivers State Ministry of Health as a Professional Nurse Educator where she rose to the rank of a deputy director. She is a Charterd Fellow, International Research Scholars and Administrators; Fellow, Gender Society of Nigeria. Member, American Society of Sociologists; Member, Nigerian Sociological and Anthropological Society. Member, Nigerian Society of Social Gerontologists. Former President of Nnwerekamma Ladies' Association of Nigeria. Current General Secretary of Ikwerre Development Association. Founder, Unique Daughters of Aluu. Member, Rotary Club of Uniport. A wife, mother and a Philosopher; to mention just a few.
